Take it to the Limit!

You don’t have to have big muscles to climb. Climbing is a great full body workout but it is also a fun and exciting recreational activity. Join Girl Scouts for a day at one of North America’s largest rock climbing gyms. Girls will learn the basics of climbing and belaying techniques from a qualified instructor. They will test their skills by spending the afternoon climbing around the gym, which includes a 65-foot climbing silo! The event fee covers lunch. Register online.

Sundown Mountain Resort Girl Scout Night

Skiing and snowboarding are exciting winter activities that can be quickly learned and enjoyed for a lifetime. This is a great opportunity for your Girl Scout troop to have fun learning a new winter sport while being physically active. Have your Girl Scout leader make the reservation and join us for an evening of fun.

Each girl must have a parent or guardian sign the Parental Permission Form for Girl Scout Activities and all forms must be sent to Korissa Prine, GSEIWI leadership experience manager before the event.

Lessons are offered at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Troops can choose which lesson time they would like to attend.

NOTE: The group lesson is for children 9 years of age or older.  Children under 9 cannot participate in the group lesson.  They must have a parent with them who knows how to ski.  Private lessons may be scheduled for a fee.

Winter Pioneer

Explore the wonders of winter in the early 1900’s.  Girls will learn how to heat a house and cook on a wood stove, make their own games, and try their hand at all sorts of old-fashioned chores from hauling wood and water to mending socks, making quilts and (most importantly) using imagination to make their own fun!  Ushers Ferry is a historical village on a 10 acre site in NE Cedar Rapids. Register online.

HeartSaver CPR and First Aid- CANCELED

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED.

This CPR and First Aid course is based on American Heart Association guidelines and will focus on one-person adult, child and infant CPR, use of the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and choking. Volunteers will also be trained in emergency first aid procedures for use in the case of accidents or sudden illness. This certification class will meet the Girl Scout requirements for first aid and CPR. Register online.

Daisy Days

Girls will learn about the “i can be…”, “Be Anything, Do Everything”, and “Super Me!” programs! We’ll end the day with a celebration that will be shared with the world through our Take Action project! Girl Scouts Day with Hawkeye Gymnastics

Cheer on the University of Iowa Women Gymnastics team! Enjoy a Kid’s Zone set up along the concourse full of games and coloring an hour before the meet starts. After the meet,the first 100 Girl Scouts that pick up the Golden Ticket at the West Sports Marketing table will be invited down to the floor to participate in the “Cha-Cha Slide” with the team. Post-meet autographs are also be available.  There is no need to register or pay for tickets.

Program Aide Basic Skills

Cupcake Craze

Girls will use their brains as well as their taste buds at this event! Professional cake decorators from Hy-Vee will help the girls make and decorate a personal cupcake, but first they’ll have to do the math! Clay Creations

Get creative with clay at the Family Museum. Girls will make a simple pot, create an art project to hang on the wall, and discover the many things made of clay. Wonders of Water Overnight

Come sleep with the fishes, literally! Join us at the National Mississippi River Museum for an evening of fun with an overnight at the aquarium. Girls will sample fun activities from the WOW! Wonders of Water Journey, tour the museum and watch a movie. Sundown Mountain Resort Girl Scout Night

Skiing and snowboarding are exciting winter activities that can be quickly learned and enjoyed for a lifetime. This is a great opportunity for your Girl Scout troop to have fun learning a new winter sport while being physically active. Have your Girl Scout leader make the reservation and join us for an evening of fun.

Each girl must have a parent or guardian sign the Parental Permission Form for Girl Scout Activities and all forms must be sent to Korissa Prine, GSEIWI leadership experience manager before the event.

Lessons are offered at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.  Troops can choose which lesson time they would like to attend.

NOTE: The group lesson is for children 9 years of age or older.  Children under 9 cannot participate in the group lesson.  They must have a parent with them who knows how to ski.  Private lessons may be scheduled for a fee.

Budget Buddies

Be a Friend First

Friends and families are amazing but sometimes they can be a maze. Join us as we take Cadettes through the aMAZE Journey as we help navigate them through their personal relationships. We will discuss peer pressure and bullying and discover ways to prevent them. Then girls will dive into empathy and develop a take action plan for ways to spread harmony throughout girl world in order to promote peace throughout the entire world.
