Camp Packing List
Clothing
- Shorts for each fay, plus extras- No short shorts
- Shirts for each day, plus extras- No spaghetti straps
- Long pants or jeans for hiking/horseback riding
- Underwear for each day, plus extras
- Socks for each day, plus extras
- Pajamas
- Sweater, sweatshirt or jacket
- Bathing suit and towel
- Towels and washcloths
- 2 pair of sturdy shoes- Shoes will get wet and dirty. Make sure they are not too small
- Boots- Rain boots/extra shoes designated for being wet
Equipment
- Sleeping bag with a sheet OR 2 sheets and blankets
- Pillow
- Raincoat or poncho
- Flashlight and extra batteries
- Hat with brim
- Laundry bag
- Insect repellent- no aerosol sprays
- Water bottle with name
- Sunscreen- In non-breakable container
- Backpack or daypack
- Bandana
Personal Items
- Soap
- Shampoo
- Hairbrush or comb
- Hairbands or other hair accessories
- Toothbrush and toothpaste
- Sandals/flip flops for shower
- Deodorant
- Feminine hygiene supplies- if applicable
- Eye care needs (eyeglasses, contacts with case and solution)- if applicable
- Dental care needs (retainer, rubber bands for braces)- if applicable
- Other toiletries as needed
Items Nice to Have
- Camera (inexpensive) and film
- Stationary, addresses, pens/pencils, stamps
- Stamped postcards
- Sunglasses
- Books/reading materials or journal for quiet time
- Watch
- Extra batteries
- Money for the Trading Post
Don’t Forget to Bring- But Do NOT Pack in Luggage
- Signed Health Card with appropriate portions completed
- All medication in its container with written and signed instructions (Keep out of luggage for check-in)
- Any additional required forms
Additional Items for Specialized Programs
If your camper is attending a specialized program, she will need the following additional items:
Equestrian
Campers participating in an equestrian session must wear long pants/jeans (no wind pants) while riding. For footwear, refer to your camp director letter.
Water—Extra swimsuit and towel, old tennis shoes/aqua socks (for canoeing, will get wet), safety strap for glasses, sunglasses
CIT/WIT—Notebook, pen/pencil, craft and game ideas/books, tote bag or backpack, watch
Outdoor/Trip—Lightweight, compact sleeping bag, nylon stuff sack, sturdy hiking boots, whistle, daypack or backpack, bandana, water bottle
Tower/Ropes Course—Long pants/jeans (not wind pants) are required while climbing.
Items to Leave at Home
`Computers/iPads, electronic games, radios, CD players, iPods/MP3 players, snacks, candy/gum, pop or food of any kind, electrical devices (hair dryers, curling irons, etc.), sandals, halter tops, mini-tops, sunsuits, any clothing or equipment advertising adult products, make-up, expensive cameras, items of monetary or sentimental value, pocket knife, Girl Scout uniform, CELL PHONE (if found at camp, the director will turn off and held until session is over).
If these items, or any other item found to be disrupting the camp program or impairing the safety of others are brought to camp, they will be collected by a staff member and returned to the camper upon check-out.
No food or beverage of any kind should be brought or sent to camp—it will attract critters.
