Troop Camping

Take Your Troop Camping

One of the most popular ways girls experience the outdoors with their troops. From  backpacking, multi-day canoe trips, backyard camping, or a day at a local park, leaders and volunteers teach girls about nature and the outdoors everyday in Girl Scouts.

Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois has several ways to get outdoors with your troop.

Take your troop camping on an overnight camping trip requires some basic trainings and then you’re ready to have an overnight adventure. Not all camping is roughing it. Many troops opt to stay in tents and learn outdoor skills. Others decided to stay in climate controlled bunkhouses and still do a variety of outdoor activities.

All four of our camp properties and facilities are available throughout the year for troop camping. Girls can experience hiking, archery, canoeing, a challenge course, a climbing wall, horseback riding, swimming pool and zip line, depending on which camp you choose. Learn more.

Attend Outdoor Adventure Weekends, staff led troop camping weekends. These troop camping weekends are all the fun of taking your troop camping without any of the planning. Register for this great experience. Adult volunteers do not need camping experience, come prepared to learn how to lead your girls in the outdoors while our staff help and make sure you have a great time with your girls.

Family Fun Day  is a sampling of our summer camps and troop camping. It’s the perfect activity if your troop isn’t quite ready for an overnight or you want to bring your family to see what our camp properties have to offer. Register now!
