Journey the World: Making It A Better Place

For girls in Grades K- 12
Thousands of girls will explore the people and cultures of more than 40 countries at booths hosted by Girl Scout troops and community members at this inspiring annual event. They will discover how to make the world a better place through hands-on learning opportunities with the focus on community service and take action. There will be a host of activities for all levels. One Tough Cookie
On July 17th, 2014 Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois celebrated five amazing women who shaped, changed, and built a path to
leadership in the Dubuque area. This event offered cocktails, appetizers, a silent auction, and the viewing of the documentary, Wonder Women: The Untold Story of American Superheroines.
The 2014 Wonder Women honorees were (L to R):
- Joey Taylor- Executive Director of United Way Dubuque Area Tri-States
- Kristin Woodward- Founder and Executive Director of Two by Two
- Sister Catherine Dunn- Former President of Clarke University
- Lindsey Reiter- Girl Scout Volunteer and Leader
- Jeanne Lauritsen- Founder of the Women’s Giving Circle
Proceeds support Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
