Council Own Patches
The council own patches are earned awards that are unique to Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. They provide additional opportunities for girls to discover topics that are not covered in earned grade level awards, connect to others and take action in their communities. Council patch programs are not offered through Girl Scouts of the USA.
The patches are unofficial recognition and therefore may only be worn on the back of the sash or vest, or on a patch jacket.
The American Heart Association and the University of Iowa Heart and Vascular Center, along with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, offer the Go Red Girl Scouts patch.
The mission for the patch is to encourage girls and adults to:
- Love your heart.
- Make healthier choices.
- Empower women you love to do the same.
