Want to get more parents involved? Or need some suggestions about troop finances? Interested in ceremonies?

Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois offers several trainings to enhance your troop’s experience.

Our offerings include:

Parental Involvement

The best way to engage parents from the very beginning of your troop year is to hold a parent meeting.  You can share all the information they will need to be a part of the troop.  It is also a great way to recruit additional help for your troop. This informative video will give you the how to’s of holding a successful parent meeting.

There is also a mini course that will help you throughout the year when parental help is needed.  This course has resources as well as suggestions on how to engage the parents in your troop.  Conflict management is also included for those times when parents and leaders don’t see eye-to-eye.

Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting and Beyond

This course is a guide to the new Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting and incorporating the new badges and activities with the existing Journeys.

Girl Scout Leadership Experience

Work with girls and need a better understanding about the GSLE? This course teaches the hows and whys of Discover, Connect and Take Action, and why these steps are so important in teaching leadership to girls.

Troop Finance

Need help with troop finances? This course will help leaders get troop finances to a manageable level. It includes suggestions for troop dues, setting up bank accounts, help understanding financial assistance and help with understanding product sales dollars.

Enrichment Workshops on Request

Would you like to learn more about working with girls or get ideas for enriching your troop meetings? Enrichment workshops are available to help meet those needs. Get your Girl Scout friends together, or as a service unit request an enrichment workshop.

To request a workshop, submit a request form. A minimum of five participants is required.
